Lunch in the Autumn sunshine at Crackerjack

Such a beautiful Autumn afternoon yesterday out on the deck at Crackerjack Cafe, for a belated birthday lunch for Mum, with my Aunty.  Here's a brief summary and a few photos for you to enjoy...

After noticing some of our favourite foodie combinations on the menu, some elements we had previously tried at The Boathouse Restaurant, we decided to order the share plate to start and we were not disappointed.  Every element was delicious from the crispy toasted bread, soft prosciutto, creamy goats cheese, pitted olives and fresh slaw.  A fantastic start to a lovely afternoon catching up in the sunshine and gazing out over the bay.

Crackerjack share plate - honey roasted fig, dukkah rolled chèvre, herb crumbed eggplant, celeriac and kipfler slaw, marinated olives, prosciutto and toasted turkish bread

Sesame crusted fish cakes - sweet curried beetroot and orange yoghurt. Hazelnut crumbed pork cutlet - with caraway spiced braised red cabbage, caramelised apple and roquette. Smoked Tasmanian salmon salad - with roquette, almond, avocado, orange and a vinaigrette

All the mains were delicious and were thoroughly enjoyed by Mum, my Aunty and I.  Our dishes were accompanied by glasses of Geppetto sparkling, Crackerjack Shiraz and my personal favourite Foxeys Pinot Noir.

Until next time fellow foodies...
